Realms of Peace: Solo Art Exhibition by Bhasker Singla
Renowned artist Bhasker Singla is set to captivate art enthusiasts with his upcoming solo exhibition, “Realms of Peace.” The exhibition will showcase a collection of artworks that embody the artist’s profound philosophy and his unwavering pursuit of peace, love, and happiness.
Drawing inspiration from the ancient Sanskrit phrase “VASUDHA EKA KUTUMBAKAM,” which translates to “the world is one family,” Bhasker Singla embraces the belief that true wisdom transcends divisions and fosters inclusivity. His artistic journey reflects the eternal spirit of liberation from artificial boundaries, echoing the core principles found in Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism.
Bhasker Singla views every creation as part of a universal cycle, akin to the ever-changing shape of the wind. Painting, for him, is a form of meditation, providing solace and allowing him to channel his emotions into a vibrant symphony of colors, forms, and figures. Through his art, he finds spiritual satisfaction, transcending worldly illusions.
Delving deeper into Singla’s body of work, one discovers the artist’s mastery of creating a sense of “air” in his paintings. Over the course of two decades of dedicated practice, he has achieved a remarkable transparent effect that breathes life into his creations. Despite using acrylic as his medium, known for its difficulty in achieving transparency, Singla skillfully applies at least 10 layers of color to his canvases. Even the first layer remains visible, resulting in an enchanting magic that resonates with viewers. The sculptural quality observed in his works is a testament to his innate temperament as a sculptor, expertly translated onto the canvas.
Belonging to a generation of Bengal artists who initially pursued art as a part-time occupation or hobby, Singla’s artistic journey was fueled by his family’s unwavering support. His mother even sold her golden bangles to nurture his love for art. However, faced with financial constraints, Singla worked in an advertising agency for two years before realizing his true calling. He ultimately became an art teacher in a local school in Delhi, allowing him the time and space to pursue his passion while providing for his family.
With a successful artistic career spanning over 25 years, Bhasker Singla has showcased his talent in numerous exhibitions in and around Delhi. His contributions to the art world have been recognized through prestigious awards, including the Camlin Foundation Award and the Bhiku Ram Jain Foundation Award in Delhi, 2010.
“Realms of Peace” promises to be a captivating exhibition, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the profound artistic expressions of Bhasker Singla. Through his vibrant and introspective creations, he beckons us to transcend boundaries and embrace the universal essence of peace and unity.
